About the Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay and Lake LBJ, Texas Area Horseshoe Bay, Texas Horseshoe Bay, just fifty-seven miles northwest of Austin and six miles southwest or Marble Falls was purchased in 1930 by the Luptons and Browns of Ft. Worth, Texas. Horseshoe Bay was known as the "Coke Ranch," because the owners were Coca-Cola bottlers in Ft. Worth. In 1969, Norman Hurd, who had visited the area years earlier, decided he wanted to try and buy the "Coke Ranch" aside from the fact that he had been told numerous times it was not for sale. However, Mr. Hurd was a persistent man who would not take no for an answer, and he soon heard rumors that the Luptons were considering selling the "Coke Ranch." Through many hardships, Norman and his cousin, Wayne Hurd, bought the ranch on June 11, 1970 for two million dollars. Soon afterward, an article appeared in the local newspaper reading, "Coca-Cola Ranch to Become $12,000,000 Quality Resort-Residence Community on Lake LBJ." Soon everyone in the area was talking about the big plans in store for the "Coca-Cola Ranch." In 1971, when construction began on the power plant, Lake LBJ was lowered 31 feet. Norman and Wayne Hurd were beginning clean-up on the shoreline when Wayne discovered an old horseshoe. And this is how the unborn resort became known as Horseshoe Bay. Today, Horseshoe Bay’s population is 4,500 and continually growing. Horseshoe Bay has grown into a resort community including Applehead Island, Horseshoe Bay Proper, Horseshoe Bay West, Skywater, Pecan Creek, Bay Country, The Trails of Lake LBJ, and Escondido. While visiting the area you can stay at Horseshoe Bay’s Marriott, a 349 room, AAA, Four Diamond luxury hotel overlooking Lake LBJ. Cosmetic Improvements >Kitchen Clutter
The kitchen is usually very important to prospective buyers. Your kitchen may not be new and state-of-the-art, but it should look its best.
Your kitchen should be spotlessly clean and well organized while your home is on the market. The counter tops should be clean and free of clutter, and the floor should shine. Appliances should be clean and in good working order. You may want to add a few decorator touches or replace cabinets, flooring, and even appliances for a small investment. Dollars spent on kitchen improvements usually pay major dividends when you sell your home. If you are planning to sell your home and need some advice in this area, an agent will be happy to discuss your options with you.
